Graduate House is the perfect place to stay. It is in the heart of Melbourne University’s southern precinct and just north of RMIT University. It is also just five minutes away by tram or bike from the campuses of other universities in Melbourne’s CBD.
We provide high quality college-like accommodation for postgraduate students (only) enrolled at any university in Melbourne, as well as for academics, researchers and clinicians visiting universities, research institutes and medical precincts in Melbourne.
We offer variable stay durations. You may thus stay for just one night or for weeks, months, semesters or years at a time.
Booking Your Stay at Graduate House

For longer term bookings (e.g, while completing your degree) we will send you a Resident Membership Application Form (via a secure link). Your reservation is confirmed upon payment of the required bonds and advance rent. There is a shorter application process for bookings from visiting Members, academics, hospital staff and researchers, as well as those that are made by a university or by those attending professional development events or conferences.

A stay at Graduate House includes breakfast seven (7) mornings a week and dinner five (5) nights a week (Monday to Friday). Each weekday a different menu is offered for lunch and dinner.

Free standard Wi-Fi is included with your stay at Graduate House. Upgrades for greater usage requirements are available for purchase.

This includes a change of your linen and towels, cleaning of the bathroom and sinks, removal of waste and vacuuming and mopping of floors.

On University Square, Graduate House is in the CBD side of The University of Melbourne and a five minute walk from RMIT University. It is also a short tram ride away from city-based campuses of the Australian Catholic University, Charles Darwin University. Charles Sturt University, Edith Cowan University, Federation University, La Trobe University, Monash University, Southern Cross University, Torrens University and Victoria University.
