Monthly Luncheon with Mr Mark Fittock

Few people can say they have left a mark on another planet but Melburnian Mark Fittock is an exception.

Mr Fittock is one of a team of engineers who make up the Mars Space team, who on 20th November 2018, saw their Space Probe land on Mars and burrow under the red sand to take the planet’s temperature.Talking about the research carried out on the ‘red planet’, Mark will guide us through his own career progression, how he came to have an interest in astrophysics and mechanical engineering, and how he has always wanted to work in Space Technology and on projects such as this.

Mr Fittock is now working in a new company, as a Project Manager/Space Systems Engineer at OHB System, based in Bremen, Germany.Originally a student at Camberwell Grammar School, Mr Fittock went on to complete a Bachelor of Science/Engineering (Mechanical) with Honours from Monash University. He has also completed a Double Masters’ of Science degree from Lulea? University of Technology. Come along to this presentation and hear firsthand what it is like to work on the Mars Space team!
