“Our event was really well planned and hassle-free. The Graduate House team was just too good – the food was wonderful, everyone especially loved the salmon and the desserts. I would like to place on record my never-ending thanks and gratitude to Bill who was literally a blessing in disguise yesterday. Instead of five “free guests” who one of our senior members had invited, he brought in 11, which brought in mayhem. Added to the fact that people who hadn’t given any dietary restrictions asked for vegetarian food. It was a difficult few moments during the event, and the amazing Bill, with his magic, somehow managed everything. The food was very good, and catered to all dietary requirements as requested. Having the food labelled is very helpful in this situation. “When The University of Melbourne Advancement Office decided to run a professional development program for the whole division, I was presented with a challenge. Where can you find a venue that can accommodate more than 110 people and offer catering, be close to the campus, with options for breakout spaces, changes to room layout, etc?

In short, where do you look for conference facilities at The University? We were delighted to land on Graduate House as a venue for our professional development program. We’ve been using the facilities offered at Graduate House for a variety of PD sessions over the last couple of years, including our Advancement Away Day, externally and internally facilitated professional development programs and business breakfasts.

The staff are always friendly and very accommodating and go out of their way to meet the needs of our presenters and participants. The rooms that we have used have been flexible enough to be configured in a variety of ways to meet the needs of our trainers and facilitators. Some of our facilitators had very exacting requirements and for all of these, Graduate House was happy to work with and meet. The catering has always been very generous and the staff work hard to ensure that everyone with dietary requirements is well fed.

At UoM Advancement, we put a strong emphasis on developing our staff. The venue is a key component for us to ensure we are delivering the programs to our staff as we want them to be delivered. The room provided privacy, was beautifully appointed with discreet floral arrangement and table setting conducive to conversation and movement to,permit frequent changes of conversational partners….an important factor in our family gatherings as all our offspring and their many cousins love to keep,in touch with each other.

Food, as always at Graduate House, excellent in quality and appropriate in quantity. The choice of two main courses enabled each person present to find one suitable to their taste.

We especially appreciated the fact that the three unable to be there at the appointed starting time were served with a hot meal when they arrived.

The high standards of service that we have come to accept as normal at GH were indeed maintained both from the regular staff and extras called in to help.

Just keep,doing what you do so well.

We have yet to find a more suitable venue for a family gathering so I am sure we will be back and certainly have no hesitation in recommending GH as the best venue for whatever gathering anyone has in mind. I am sure we will be back! In fact it was suggested by one of the family who experienced a similar function earlier in the year that it was pointless to think of anywhere else!”

I felt at every step of the way, Rosie’s full attention was focussed on making things as easy for us as possible and working with us to deliver the best event possible. She was accommodating of our requests, even when they may have fallen outside of the usual way of doing things. I always felt that she had our best interests at the forefront and was as invested in the success of the evening as much as we were.

We worked with Rosie and the chef to come up with some really special dishes for the night. The quality of the food was outstanding, we had many favourable comments from guests about the food. The serving sizes were generous without being overly so. I had barramundi and it was perfectly cooked – that’s impressive when you are serving 100 people!

All the staff I encountered were so helpful, efficient and professional. Rosie, Bill and Daniel went above and beyond to assist in every way possible. Rosie in particular with her calm and attentive way of working, instilled great confidence in me from the first time we met, that those things which were out of my control – ie the service and delivery on the night, would be done well.
