Adding a Featured Item
If you haven’t already, login to the administration panel
- From the menu select Posts > Add New [A]
- Give the event item a title [B]
- Type out, or paste, the content for the news item [C]. If pasting from Word please use the “Paste From Word” icon (you may need to enable the Kitchen Sink, see below)
- Important: A featured news post must contain a large image (equal or larger than 640 x 360 pixels). The image displayed on the banner will be the last image uploaded to the post. Upload an image using the upload window [E], then close the upload window.
- Fill in the “Excerpt” [D]. The excerpt is a short description of the event that will be displayed on the home page underneath the title.
- Select the category “Featured” [F]
- Press “Publish” [H]
Notes
- To remove a featured news post simple find the post in Posts > Edit and press “Delete” in the “Publish” box.
- Featured items occur in chronological order. To change the order simple change the date [G].
