In 2015 we launched a campaign to firstly increase awareness of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. We began by placing material around the college which referenced the goals, and ensured that Members and Residents of Graduate House aimed to learn the 17 goals.
This was then followed by a social media campaign, ‘How I can make a difference’ which sought people to think of the ways — however big or small — that they help address the Sustainable Development Goals.
From an intention to great action, we captured the good work of many people around the college. We discovered those who currently donate to charities, who volunteer in homeless shelters, to those who are working hard to ensure quality design and sustainable development of our homes.
It was an overwhelming response, and the image above showcases just a handful of those who we met doing great work in relation to the Sustainable Development Goals.
We’d like to meet more people to promote their intentions and actions. Our campaign is already gaining attention from other like-minded organisations, like 17 Goals, so we know that our mission is not over yet. Are you doing something that deserves some attention? By sharing what good work you do, you are inspiring and encouraging others to hopefully do the same. So what are you waiting for? Download the template to write down your #action2016!
