A Graduate House Research Scholarship is available to provide financial assistance to residents of Graduate House who are involved in a research project. This grant provides financial support in order for the successful applicant to complete their research in their chosen field. All recipients of the Graduate House Research Scholarship will be awarded their Scholarship at the dinner following the Annual General Meeting in May each year. The successful applicants will join the prestigious alumni of Scholarship recipients.
Amount: $5,000
Eligibility:
- The applicant must be an enrolled student and long term (minimum 12 months) resident of Graduate House.
Criteria:
- The applicant must require the grant for a specific purpose, for example to hire specialised equipment, to present at an international conference etc.
- The scholarship will be awarded at the sole discretion of the Graduate House Board
- The applicant will be chosen on the grounds of:
- Novelty and ingenuity of the research
- The most compelling proposal
- The submitted application and interview
- Demonstrated applicability and benefit to the community
Requirements:
- All applicants must submit a faculty reference, academic transcript and resumé with their written application to the Graduate House Board
- Short listed applicants will be required to support their written application with an oral presentation of no more than 10 minutes demonstrating why they should receive the grant. This should include a brief background of the proposed research project to the Graduate House Board
- The short listed applicants must also submit a proposed budget for the grant money

- Interviews will be held: April 2010
- Successful Scholarship applicant announced: 6 May 2010
- Scholarship awarded at the AGM Dinner, Thursday, 27 May 2010
